Beginner Yoga & Beyond:
BYB is the perfect class for those new to Yoga and for more experienced Yogis looking to approach their practice with a Beginner's mind. This slow flow Vinyasa class will focus on alignment, breath, and restorative postures that you can take from the studio in to your home. Prepare to relax & renew.
Pre-Natal Yoga applies classical yoga techniques and focus on areas of the body that need stretching and strengthening during pregnancy. Improve lower back and abdominal muscles, develop your own breathing rhythm, and visualize your powers of effective visualization for a birth that is alive with awareness and focused on empowerment for both mother and baby. Carmela has taught this workshop for twelve years and is a pioneer in prenatal yoga in the Boston area.
Yang/Yin Vinyasa: An all-levels vinyasa flow to detox, unwind and reset from the weekend. This class will offer a balance of vigorous and restorative postures to recalibrate the body and mind after the weekend, and prepare for a smooth transition into the week ahead. The class starts with a slow vinyasa flow using longer holds to create heat that purifies the body. Then we will settle down with a few yin postured designed to relax the muscles and target deep connective tissues in the body. We'll finish with a restorative post or two to integrate the practice, and a long savasana.
All-Levels Vinyasa: Open to all levels of practitioners,this vinyasa flow will methodically bring you into a deeper connection with your body, and create a mindfulness that stays with you long after you step off the mat. Guided by breath, you will move through a sequence of warm-ups, sanding and seated postures, twists, backbends, and inversions, with modifications to suit all levels of experience.
Mom & Baby—Tone, strengthen and stretch your muscles and release stress through breathing and postures that your baby can watch or participate in. (for mothers with babies who cannot yet walk).
